TOLL COATING & EQUIPMENT
The coating equipment in our facility can handle a multitude of paper grades, from lightweight flexible paper to linerboard and solid bleached board. By utilizing our state-of-the-art equipment described below, SFS is able to apply FDA compliant, functional coatings in the most economical way.
■The metered size press can coat one or both sides of the paper with the same or different coatings in a single pass at speeds up to 4,000 feet per minute, depending on the basis weight/caliper of the paper.
■ Flying splice and turn-up systems allow us to run continuously with no down time for reloading rolls.
■ Winder can provide finished rolls as narrow as 8” wide.
■ Ability to apply a variety of coat weights necessary to meet customer specific application requirements.
■ Our two banks of IR dryers and one air flotation dryer facilitate complete curing thus providing optimal barrier performance.
■ Web width ranges from 60” to 112” and up to 60” diameter.
